Becoming is a narrative short film that evolved out of my desire to explore the process of creative transformation. Drawing from my own journey – an early fascination with storytelling and the challenges of finding my identity as a filmmaker – this film became both a reflection and a creative experiment. The making of the film was a journey in and of itself, one that required me to look inward through the lens of my camera and face the many challenges I encountered in the pursuit of my craft. The film offers a unique blend of documentary elements, such as the use of personal archives, with narrative storytelling.

This approach to filmmaking was unfamiliar to me; I embraced the discomfort of change, learned from setbacks, and found clarity in moments of confusion and creative block, something I faced extensively in my life. My aim for this film is to resonate with audiences on an intimate and nostalgic level, capturing the constant evolution of place, personality, and purpose that defines the human experience. Becoming is a reminder that we are all in the process of becoming something greater, through the fears, the struggles, and the endless potential for what comes next.
